Overview
The Ramayana tour with Thaji Lanka Tours focuses on the historical and legendary sites mentioned in the ancient Indian epic. The journey starts in the central hills, visiting the Munneswaram and Manavari temples, which are key locations in the Ramayana story.
From there, we travel to Kandy and Nuwara Eliya. You will see the Seetha Amman Temple, believed to be the site where Princess Sita was held, and the Hakgala Botanical Gardens, often associated with the Ashoka Vatika. The itinerary also includes the Divurumpola Temple, a site of significant importance in the epic’s narrative.

Day 01
- Welcome to Sri Lanka!
- Upon arrival at the Colombo Airport, a dedicated Thaji Lanka Tours chauffeur will warmly welcome you with traditional orchid garlands.
- Transfer to the coastal town of Chilaw.
- Visit the deeply significant Munneswaram Hindu Temple and the Manavari Hindu Temple, both holding strong ties to the Ramayana epic.

- Journey to Sigiriya and conquer the iconic UNESCO World Heritage Sigiriya Rock Fortress.
- Visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, famous for its mesmerizing ancient frescoes and intricate ceiling designs.
- En route, stop at a Matale Spice Garden to discover authentic Sri Lankan spices and natural handmade products.
- Proceed to Kandy, the cultural capital of Sri Lanka.

Day 04

Day 05

- En route, visit the Bhakta Hanuman Temple in Ramboda, a significant site built by the Chinmaya Mission, known for its special religious poojas.
- Explore the Gayathri Peedam, a sacred location believed to have been blessed by Lord Shiva for King Ravana’s son.
- Continue the scenic drive into Nuwara Eliya.

Day 06

- Visit the Ussangoda Ramayana Site, an area of unique red soil believed to have been an ancient airport torched by King Ravana.
- Travel to Galle and visit the Rumassala Sanjeevani Mountain, a legendary site where fragments of Himalayan herbs brought by Lord Hanuman are said to have fallen.
- Visit the Seenigama Temple in Hikkaduwa, associated with the epic battle between the Monkey King’s forces and King Ravana.
- In the evening, explore the historic Galle Dutch Fort, a charming UNESCO World Heritage site built by the Portuguese and expanded by the Dutch.
- Overnight stay in Galle.
Day 08
- After breakfast, journey along the coast towards the bustling capital city of Colombo.
